Keep an untouched master before making any change. A project re-export, original camera file, removable subtitle track, or clean licensed asset preserves real pixels; inpainting only estimates pixels that are no longer available in a flattened frame. Document why you are allowed to edit the material and do not remove attribution or disclosure that must remain.
Plan a precise repair
